STORAGE AND CLASSIFICATION OF CASINGS
'Casing' is the word we use to describe the old unit before it is rebuilt. At Asysum we have a stock of over 3,000 correctly stored and classified casings.
CLEANING AND CHECKING CASINGS
Each casing is cleaned using environmentally friendly methods. The main components (engine block, crankshaft and cylinder head) are removed and then taken to a specialised section where they are checked and ground.
BORING AND GRINDING OF CYLINDERS
The cylinders are reground using state-of-the-art CNC grinding technology. This process guarantees that the exact tolerances stated by the manufacturers are obtained along with an optimised crosshatch to prevent possible oil leaks.
NALYSIS AND GRINDING OF CRANKSHAFTS
Crankshafts are positioned inside longitudinal and transverse magnetic fields in order to detect cracks. The intact crankshafts are then ground to the required size.
GRINDING OF BEDPLATES
This machine is used to grind and realign bedplates in order to correct the bending and pull caused by the chassis. If this process is not carried out, the crankshaft will bend along with the bedplate and may break as a result.
GRINDING OF CONNECTING RODS
The bushing at the base of the connecting rods is replaced. This machine is used to rebore inside them. All the connecting rods are aligned parallel to each other before being sent to the assembly workshops.
ASSEMBLY SECTION
Each engine is assembled by a highly qualified technician. In assembling the engine all the friction-bearing components are replaced by components that have been quality-control tested. The engine is put assembled along the line. Levels and assembly times are checked in the process.
TEST BENCH
ASYSUM, S.A. has three test benches which are used to test both petrol and diesel engines after assembly. The power and consumption of the engine is tested along with exhausts and the tuning.
As a result of these controls we guarantee a high-quality rebuilt engine.
PAINT SHOP
Following the tests the engines are taken to the paint and finishing shop where we put the finishing touches to them.
STORAGE
The engines are shrink wrapped in plastic film and stored on a metal trestle to protect them from damage while being handled and shipped to the client. The old casing is returned on the same trestle. Different types of engine can be supplied depending on the client's needs:
DIESEL ENGINE WITH FUEL INJECTION:
d engine with valve cover to oil sump and timing and diesel injection system (injection pump, injectors and pipes) fitted.
DIESEL ENGINE (NON-FUEL INJECTION): Closed engine with valve cover to oil sump and timing system fitted in chain models (diesel engines with belt supplied without timing system).
PETROL ENGINE: Closed engine with valve cover to oil sump and timing system fitted.
DIESEL AND PETROL CYLINDER BLOCK WITH CONNECTING RODS:
Cylinder block fitted with pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft.
